It is that time of year again. Here is my annual request for your support towards a great cause. We have taken part in the JDRF walk for many years now with lots of support from many people. The walk is at Gring's Mill in Reading, PA on Sunday, October 20 at 1:00.
As you know, our nephew, Justin, was diagnosed with diabetes 10+years ago. Crazy to think he has been battling this thing for that long. The fight continues for him and many, many more. With advancements in medical technology, he is equipped with a device which pumps insulin into his body as his body needs it. Pretty neat considering a few years ago he needed to have his fingers pricked many times a day to draw blood to get a sugar count reading.
We hope to increase the donations from years past. A couple of years ago I set a goal of $1000 and we crushed it. This year, I have a new goal and a little bit of a different idea. I have increased the team's goal to $1200. On top of that, I will get t-shirts made for all WALKERS who DONATE, and any donations $50 or more given by those not able to make the walk. I want to get a lot of t-shirts made (now just need to find someone creative to come up with the t-shirt design – any takers?).
Here is the link to join the team as a walker or to donate to JDRF.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
