Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year’s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D), including myself Alexa. I was diagnosed with T1D nearly two years ago, at first it was really really hard to understand everything, like why I couldn't have candy whenever I wanted or my favorite pop to drink or why some of my friends treated me different and not being allowed to go to some birthday parties because other parents were to nervous to have me over. Type 1 diabetes is not easy, I have to check my sugar many times a day and even more if I'm active, to make sure my sugar is not to high or low. Thats hard to remember all the time, its a good thing my mom and little brother are always reminding me. Nothing like your 3 year old brother telling you to check your sugar when you come in for dinner! Its hard to just be a normal kid anymore. Please help me and others like me to not feel ostracized because of a disease we got that changed our lives.
If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help us make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
