Join me on JDRF's quest for a cure to T1D!

Welcome to my personal JDRF fundraising page! I am a member of the C257H389N65O77S6 team! (What on earth is C257H389N65O77S6, you ask? Find out below!)

I'll be taking part in this year?s event in State College, Pennsylvania on May 11, 2013 to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D).  Please join me in my fundraising eforts toward the eradication and better treatment of T1D by joining our walking team or donating funds to my cause. If you will not be in State College on May 11, please consider joining as a virtual walker.... we would love to have you as a part of our team!

I walk for one of the most important people in my life, Chris Averill. As you may know, Chris has been living with T1D for fifteen years. If you know or ask people with T1D, like Chris, they will tell you that it is difficult and life threatening. And they know that it never goes away

I am asking for your support.  Please join our team or donate to my personal fundraising efforts.  By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes. You can be part of JDRF's search for a cure and better treatment options - increasing the quality of life for people like Chris around the world.

As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D.  JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered.

    Thank you for your support!

    Did you know that:

    • T1D is an autoimmune disease that comes on suddenly and strikes both children and adults at any age.
    • T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle.
    • Chris and others living with T1D must carefully balance insulin doses with eating and daily activities throughout the day and night.
    • Chris and others living with T1D must test their blood sugar by pricking their fingers for blood 4 or more times a day.
    • C257H389N65O77S6 is the chemical formula for the type of insulin that Chris and others living with T1D use to survive
