JOIN US IN THE FIGHT TO CREATE A WORLD WITHOUT TYPE 1 DIABETES!
Welcome to Radio Park's JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
OUR STORY: At the end of November, a Radio Park Second Grader, Sarah F., was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In the blink of an eye, life changed for Sarah and her family. As part of Sarah's school family, Sarah has taught our classroom family so much about Diabetes-with a book she shared with us, with the ongoing information she shares with us, and also just by watching her every day and seeing how brave she is and how well she takes care of herself to stay healthy. Her daily routine has become a part of our daily life in our classroom. We are so proud of Sarah, and want to share our love and care for her by participating in this walk. As Sarah's Radio Park TEAM, we are joining this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money we raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D.
T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.
JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.
Please support our commitment and donate to our Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease. It will make a difference for Sarah!
