This year will be my 4th JDRF Walk! I have done 2 in Pittsburgh and 1 in DC - I am so excited to join my friends and family in Philadelphia on October 27th!
As most of you already know, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in August 2008; an indescribable life change. Through my ups and downs, I have become emotionally invested in the disease and finding ways to get involved. Every day can be struggle, but each day I learn more about myself and how perseverance through hardship is what makes me who I am.
Doing the JDRF walks has helped me find way to turn my negative feelings towards this disease into a fun day of exercise, bonding, and inspiration. I love to see the kids with diabetes running around and having such care-free fun - they encourage me and remind me that if someone who is 4 year old can do it - I sure can.
Any contribution you can make towards this cause would mean the world to me! I wake up everyday hope that one day we can find a cure!
