Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
Gluconquerors! It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it? But if you're a type 1 diabetic (T1D), "gluconqueror" may evoke the spirit of your day-to-day battle -- overcoming the short- and long-term threat of too-high or too-low blood glucose levels.
The Gluconquerors is the name that our family has created for our team of walkers in the 2012 Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraiser. We invite you to join the team as a walker. And we hope you'll be inspired to support the phenomenal work of JDRF in research and advocacy that improves and extends the life of those with type 1 diabetes.
Our team begins with two T1Ds. Hilary Bonta and Lucas Bowerman. Mother and son. They test blood glucose together. They calculate carbs together. They pump insulin together. The Gluconquerors are walking for Hilary, Lucas and all other T1Ds, to improve their lives and ultimately prevail over the effects of type 1 diabetes.
By joining our Walk Team and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease.
Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? All we need you to do is click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It?s simple, fast, and fun!
Thank you for your support, and we?ll see you on Walk day!
