Once a year I write to you and ask for your support for a very special cause. I support my Cousin Bill Shanahan and his family who's son, Brendan, has junior diabetes. This year Brendan is a freshman in high school. In addition to dealing with all the freshman challenges, he also does an awesome job managing this disease.
JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic plan to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D). They'll do that by progressively removing the impact of T1D from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone. I'm asking you to help support my fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible gift that will help make a difference in the lives of the millions of people with T1D.
T1D's onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. At present, there is also nothing you can do to get rid of it. People with T1D must manage the disease by injecting or pumping insulin several times a day, every day. Insulin is not a cure, and it does not prevent the possibility of serious complications like kidney failure, blindness, and stroke.
That's why I walk with JDRF - to help them fund research to discover, develop, and deliver new drugs and devices that cure, better treat, and prevent T1D. You can help, through a donation to support my efforts to support JDRF.
Together, we can create a world without T1D an remember anything you can do is appreciated by the Shanahan family and myself!
Many blessing to you and yours,
