Hi Family and Friends,
I am writing to ask for your support for the JDRF Walk to Cure Type 1 Diabetes.
We have done this walk since Ryan was diagnosed at the age of 17, he will be 23 in December. So many great advances have happened in the past 6 years and I truly believe a cure will be found in his lifetime.
More and more people of all ages are being diagnosed with this chronic disease and there are more and more children of Type 1's that are getting this disease. It is hard enough to accept this disease for my son but the thought of it developing in any future grandchildren make me want to cry.
Everyone who knows Ryan would never guess what he has to deal with everyday. From the outside he seems like the perfect child and in my eyes he is:) But the fact is, his body is far from perfect. It is so scary to think of one of his organs(pancreas) just does not work and the long time effects on his other organs.
Type 1 Diabetes has not stopped Ryan in any way, it has just made life more challenging.
As a mother you worry if your kids are eating right, getting enough sleep and exercising while at college.
My worries for him just have long term consequences, that is why we support JDRF and finding a cure.
I know there are so many causes to support but if you could contribute any amount it would be greatly appreciated!
So, thank you for all your support!
We really do appreciate it,
