Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year’s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes, including Chrissy and I!
The Walk to Cure Diabetes does not only contribute money to a cause so dear to my heart, but it signifies a special unity with the people I love the most! I know that if you are looking at this page you are one of those people! It means the world to me that you have taken the initiative to learn more about type-1 diabetes and I hope that this knowledge inspires you further!
Did you know that:
Many of you know that Chrissy Kazigian, my cousin, is also a type-1 diabetic. She has lived with it for many years while playing sports, being active, smart, beautiful, kind, and brave! I have watched her grow up and have seen the obstacles she has faced and overcome. She is a light in my life, and someone who has become my confidante when my diabetes gets to be overwhelming! She knows what I am going through, and has come face to face with many of the same challenges.
I have spent 18 years living with type-1 diabetes, and although the road has held many obstacles, the courage instilled in me by my parents' and sister’s example, has lead me to a life dedicated to helping other children facing similar challenges. My family and loved ones have been the most influential figures in my life, and I know that without them I'd be far less capable of success.
Obstacles give rise to opportunities, and my challenges and experiences with T1D have motivated me to become a physician with perspective and empathy. The obstacles started before I can remember, but the opportunities continue to emerge. You will never know the amount of love and appreciation I have for all of you. I have survived and thrived for the last 22 years because of the love, support, and encouragement I have received from you, my family and loved ones. I hope to make a significant difference in the medical world someday, and I am starting here, with JDRF.
I hope you consider donating to a cause so important to me! Thank you for your support, and I love you all!
