Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). As many of you all know, it?s been a little over a year now since my younger child has been diagnosed with T1B and as much I would love to say that it?s gotten easier and more controlled, the truth of the matter is that it is much more frustrating, unpredictable and complicated then we had ever anticipated.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
We know that as family and friends you care and think of Marcus and his struggles with diabetes. However, as time goes on, I don?t think Marcus realizes that people still remember and know that every day he FEELS the pain of shots and pricks all day long; that every carbohydrate he puts in his mouth has to be accounted for and whether it?s simple or complex sugar and what time will it be in his blood system; that every activity (mental or physical) has to be factored in; that the slightest oversight on our end can be FATAL for him, and even with the whole calculation done correctly, the result of his sugar level is often unpredictable and unexplainable.
This is the life of the many who live with diabestes, and until a cure is found, we will not stop caring and working towards finding a cure.
Thank you for your support!
