On Saturday January 26, 2012 our family will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes at the Sioux Empire Mall in Sioux Falls. Join us in helping JDRF reach their overall Walk goal of $275,000 for research dollars to cure diabetes.
Nick was diagnosed with Type 1, or juvenile diabetes at the age of 2. He started with 4 shots a day and a very strict diet. Nick was on an insulin pump a couple months after being diagnosed which has helped him maintain better control of his blood sugar and he only has one shot every two days when he has to change his sight. Insulin is not a cure though.
There is some good news. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more Type1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference by donating to JDRF? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
Sincerely,
Nick's Team
