Diabetic Bandits

Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!  

Robin L. and I participated in the walk last year along with my youngest sister, Erica. It was kind of cool to be there with so many people that are both impacted by those with Type 1 daibetes and have the disease themselves.

This year I'd like to make a bit more of a footprint in the annual fundraising campaign so that JDRF can become a bigger part of the Sioux Falls community and be more equipped to sponsor research projects.

Health insurance premiums aside, our insulin is a big part of our personal spending every year. I see my endocrinologist twice a year at $75 a visit, my insulin costs me about $360 a year and test strips are about $120. Between the two of us, it's a spendy situation just to keep us healthy and wise. Anything we can do to help find the cure brings us closer to a big potential savings on our healthcare every year. (I could totally use the money for my student loan payments.)
