MITCH'S MAFIA
Over Labor Day weekend of 2010, Mitch became very sick and was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. This is a disease that affects over 15,000 children every year. It is a life of finger pokes, insulin injections and constant monitoring of blood sugar levels and carbohydrate intake.
This past year has been one of learning for Mitch. Learning how to take control of his diabetes so that it doesn?t take control of him; learning how to continue to live life care free as every 13 yr. old should; but yet being careful with activities, blood sugar checks and counting carbs.
Last year our family participated in the 2011 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. It was our first walk as a team and we were able to raise over $500 in a very short amount of time. This year, we would like to more than double that amount for a cause that means so much to us. Please help us in our efforts by donating to the 2012 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes where South-east SD has an aggressive goal of $300,000 for diabetes research!
With your help we can find a cure!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
