Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $94 million to end Type 1 diabetes.  

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.

This isn't just any fight.  This is a battle near, and very real, to my family.  Do you know how many carbs your last meal had?  How about the amount of times you've had blood drawn this year?  Have you ever had a life-changing disease to which there was no cure?  My sister has.  Last Summer, Emily was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes.  Emily checks her blood sugar 5 -6 times a day.  She accounts for every single carb in her diet by injecting herself with insulin- sometimes up to 5 or 6 times a day.  As a 17 year old, she is now facing a disease she will have for life, fearful of complications relating to blindness, amputation, nerve damage, and other challenges.

There is hope.  I am asking for your support. Please donate to our fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help us make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.  With your help, we can find a cure.
