Hey team BROWN SUGAR!
Type 1 Diabetes has completely changed my life and my husbands life. In 2009 my husband of just a few weeks was diagnosed with an incurable and lifechanging disease; Type 1 Diabetes. Team Brown Sugar was formed not only to support my husband but to support myself and our families. I have since become a Certified Diabetes Educator and my husband has created a design and t-shirt company, www.Type1Design.com and a portion of the proceeds are donated to JDRF.
I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. My husband Ryan was diagnosed soon after we were married in 2009. It has been a struggle but JDRF has been there for us to show we are not alone and has given us much needed support!
There is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
