On Saturday, September 28th Ford Motor Credit employees will be walking as a part of the Ford Motor Company Team in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Nashville, Tennessee. Ford is the largest corporate contributor to JDRF and is the organization’s only global sponsor, a prestigious honor the company holds in high esteem. Since its inception in 1998, the employee driven team known as the Ford Global Action Team has contributed $42 million directly to JDRF. No other company or organization has had a greater impact on JDRF funding than Ford.
Last year, the Nashville Business Center team raised $73,938, which was $18,938 above our original goal and a record campaign. Results like this are not possible without the commitment of the Ford Credit team and the generosity of our dealer partners. Working together as ONE Ford, we were able to Go Further than anyone imagined. The dollars raised support research to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes, a disease that impacts millions of adults, teens, and children.
This year, the Nashville Business Center has set a goal to exceed last year’s results – so we need your help! That's why I hope you will consider joining us by making a tax-deductible contribution.
I know that you get solicited by many non-profit organizations each year, just as I do. However, I am truly impressed by the JDRF organization and I'm committed to its cause. As a member of the Board of Directors for the Middle Tennessee Chapter, I can attest to the outstanding efforts being led by JDRF to find a cure for this terrible disease. In addition, as a member of the Ford Family, I am be proud of Ford’s association with JDRF and the impact we are making around the globe. Please join us!
Thanks to JDRF, researchers feel that a cure for type 1 diabetes is in sight. JDRF has funded much of the groundbreaking research conducted thus far. In fact, JDRF is the largest private funder of diabetes research in the world. In a typical year, 80% of JDRF’s expenses support their mission to find a cure, earning them an “A” rating for efficiency from the American Institute of Philanthropy.
I sincerely hope that you will join us in the quest to reach our ultimate goal – a world without diabetes.
