Friends & Family,
I'm writing to ask for your support as I raise funds for my participation in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sat., Sept. 29 in Nashville. Simply click on the big orange "Donate to Jamie" button above to help me achieve my goal.
As you may know, Mary Lyn was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 3 and I've watched her bravely manage this autoimmune disorder and commit her professional life to fund the research that will result in a cure for her and millions of others. But enough from me -- read on to hear more about Mary Lyn's life with type 1 diabetes . . . and watch her video to the right to see how type 1 diabetes impacts her life every day.
Thanks for your consideration,
I hate you.
I hate how you're with me all the time, whether I like it or not. And I hate how you're always cluttering up my life.
You're all over my house --- You're in my refrigerator. You're on my nightstand. And you take up space in my closet.
You're with me wherever I go --- You're there when I'm at work. You're definitely there when I'm at the gym. I take a hike, but there you are again. I wish you'd take a hike. Even when I'm on vacation, you won't leave me alone. You should go jump off a bridge.
You're always there when it's time to eat. You can really take the fun out of food, which stinks, because food should be enjoyed!
Sometimes I can ignore the ways you're hurting me like how you're slowly ruining my eyes but other times you won't be ignored.
You put holes in my fingers. You make me bleed. You drive me crazy and you make me mad. But you also make me STRONG.
I don't know if you know this, Diabetes, but there are a lot of people besides me that hate you. And we're all hard at work to put and end to you. And together, we will make you go away for good.
That's a promise.
