Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page!
Noah was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 3 years old. Noah is now 10 years old and is doing great. He wears an insulin pump to keep his diabetes under control, but otherwise is a normal, and very active and smart boy. Noah is a 5th grade student at Thomas Magnet School. He is a member of the student council and will be playing the Mayor of Whoville in the school play this November, Seussical the Musical. Noah also enjoys playing soccer and taking part in all of the children’s activities at Fair Haven Baptist Church.
We want you all to know how much your help and support means to us. Last year, Noah’s team was able to raise over $4000, and we hope to do it again. Please help us reach this goal! Your money is used by JDRF to fund research to find a cure, but also to prevent type I diabetes in the future, and make treatments easier for those already affected.
There has been exciting news this past year on the artificial pancreas development. The FDA has released final guidance on getting the artificial pancreas approved. JDRF is the key player in completing the clinical trials and approvals necessary to bring this technology to fruition. Many believe this will be the biggest advancement in diabetes management since the discovery of insulin in the 1920’s. It could be only a few short years away, but we need to make sure the research continues.
This year, Noah has received the special honor of being named the “youth ambassador” for the Murfreesboro Walk. Please consider giving to make this a successful day for Noah and JDRF. Together, we can make the cure a reality!
