Here is a heart warming story as told by Cindy:
I want to tell you an amazing conversation that I had with Clara in the van a few weeks ago. It was just the two of us, and she was testing her sugar on-the-go, always a rather dicey proposition as we bump along.
I asked her, "If you could snap your fingers and get rid of your diabetes, would you?"
You probably know that she reads a lot of fantasy literature, so her first question was, "What would I have to give up in return?"
I laughed and said, "This isn't a book. You don't have to give up anything. You just get something - no diabetes."
She thought about it some more. She said, "Would I have to go back to being 10 again? I don't want to live my life over or give up the things I've learned. I wouldn't want to not go to Camp Bluebonnet or Lions Camp."
I said, "Okay, you can just get rid of it right now and go on from here. No bargaining, no living your life over."
To my surprise, there was more thinking.
Finally she said, "Can I give my gift to someone else? I'd give it to someone who can't manage their diabetes as well as I can."
What an amazing story! And the best part is, it's 100% true.
Let me tell you what I'd wish for if I could snap my fingers: for Clara not to have diabetes, and for no one else to have it either.

Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
