Help me cure Juvenile Diabetes!
EJ has a close friend (Spencer) who was just diagnosed in June with juvenile diabetes. This is such a life altering disease for the child and family! Spencer went from a carefree kid to a kid who now has to check his blood sugar levels, count his daily carbohyrdrate intake, keep a food log, and also take insulin shots before meals and snacks. His poor mom has to wake up in the middle of the night to check his blood sugar level because it could be dangerously low. It breaks my heart to see how much this disease has affected Spencer and his family!
I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research.
I can't imagine waking up one day and discovering that my perfectly healthy child has been diagnosed with a disease! I can't imagine having to monitor my child's food intake, count his carbohydrates, keep a food log, monitor his blood sugar level by pricking his finger and giving him shots throughout the day! Please support me and donate to my Walk fundraising campaign. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.
Thank you for your support!
