Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
Every day, I have to check my blood sugar around 6-8 times a day. I have to constantly maintain healthy blood glucose levels, which is no easy task. Blood sugar levels that are too low or too high can affect how I perform in school and during day-to-day tasks drastically. At each meal and before snacks, I have to count my carbs and calculate the insulin dosage so that my blood sugar stays in check. Since my pancreas no longer produces insulin, I use a medical device called an insulin pump. Due to my busy teenage life, managing my diabetes takes a large amount of time and effort that I need to spend on school and other important parts of my day. Living with T1D is a challenge everyday, and all I need is your help to make life a little easier for me and the many other kids living with T1D everday.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
