This year I will be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with several members of my family. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes three years ago, at the age of 10. Since then I've learned how to stay healthy by giving myself insulin and poking my fingers up to 8 times each day to test blood sugar. A couple years ago, I switched from a pen needle to an insulin pump which makes things easier, but diabetes management still requires constant adjustments and maintenance. Type 1 Diabetes has changed my life forever but I'm hopeful that someday a cure will be discovered. Until then, JDRF is working on new advances to make living with diabetes easier.
I'm hoping that you will consider walking with us on May 11th or donating to the JDRF so we can find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes!
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
