This year has definitely been our most trying year yet with Type 1 Diabetes. We spent the night before Easter in the hospital after Jayden had her very first seizure due to low blood sugars. Nothing is more scary than watching your 4 year old child scream and tremble uncontrollably. It is an image that will never escape my brain, and I count my blessings that she was able to recover from it with no damage or trauma to her body or her emotional well being.
Every year we pray for a cure or even a better alternative for families who suffer with Type 1 Diabetes. It is such a difficult disease to manage. Sometimes when she is struggling with up to 13 finger pokes a day and 8 shots to try and bring down high blood sugars it is difficult not to just break down and scream, and cry, and hate God for giving her this disease. I do believe we are stronger people because of it, but most days it is just overwhelming. Please help us to meet our goal this year and come and support our mission to make all those who suffer from Type 1 live healthier, longer and happier lives, and Hope for a cure for Diabetes!
