Hello, Friends and Family!
We've been participating in the Walk to Cure diabetes since 2000, just after Simon was diagnosed. This year Simon wrote his own personal request to you to help us raise funds for diabetes research. Here is his request:
13 years ago, when I was 3, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. Some years later, Brendan, my cousin was also diagnosed, then another few years another cousin was diagnosed, Grace.
None of us can remember life before injections and daily finger pokes since we were diagnosed.
But with your help, we can have that life, and finally live without fear of missing a crucial insulin injection.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is having their annual Walk to Cure Diabetes this September at the Milwaukee Zoo. My team, Simon Says Walk, will be taking part again.
The progress JDRF has made in finding a cure for this life threatening disease is astounding. Within the past couple years, researchers have developed several possible cures, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop fund raising and donating to the cause.
Any amount of donation is completely and entirely appreciated and it won’t go without thanks. Grace, Brendan, and I, along with millions of other diabetics love seeing donations, it means people really care.
