Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year?s Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away.
I have been diabetic since 7 years of age. It has been a struggle, especially later in life. I never knew as a kid how much diabetes can get in the way, especially when trying to lose weight. It is extremely difficult needing to exercise but my bloodsugar is high or low, or going over my calorie range because I needed to eat. The extra insulin in my system also hinders weight loss -- it's a lose lose lose situation, but I keep trying.
I think back to when I was first diagnosed. I had to poke my fingers with a huge needle multiple times a day and give myself shots. At age SEVEN. What child really needs to go through that? Help find a cure so no more children have to go through this!
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support!
