Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds in support of my friend Tre (Daniel) Burt. He is 4 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) on April 3rd, 2012. I spent the day with Tre and his family yesterday. We went to McDonald's Play Place for lunch. Tre had to have a finger poke before he ate to check his blood sugar. He ate some of his lunch and then went to play in the Play Place with the other kids. He had to stop playing every 5 minutes or so to come to the table and work on finishing his lunch. From playing so hard and having so much fun, he was noticibly sweaty. He had to have another finger poke to check his sugar again, which was low, and then had to stop playing with the other kids so he could rest and get some sugar in his system so he didn't get sick. It was heart-wrenching to watch a 4-year-old boy have to stop having fun because of his medical condition.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts to help find a cure for this disease. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes...and for Tre.
