Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!
I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
On June 4, 2012, my son Austin was diagnosed with Type 1Diabetes. As a diabetic myself, he understood the serious and devastating effects of this disease. While in the hospital, the doctors began to talk about his diagnosis and life for him with this crazy disease and Austin heard while in the bathroom... He flung open the door and said "Who has diabetes??" " I don't want this disease... take it away!!!" Then the nurses came in for his first shot of insulin and he came to me and said, " Dad.... it's you and me." He has taken this battle like a true champion! He has endured what no child his age should have to go through. This year his mother and I join in our fight for him against this disease and ask you to come along side us and join in this fight.
My son will never know a day without injections of insulin and finger pricks for blood sugar testing. He can never eat without serious consideration to how the food he eats affect him. Please join our plight to create a world without Type 1 Diabetes.
Please support me and donate to my Walk fundraising campaign. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible today?
Thank you for your support!
