"A life without Type 1 Diabetes would mean to me that I can have sleepovers whenever I want again"
Sol-Marie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on September 16th, 2013. Her life will never be the same -HOPEFULLY THERE WILL BE A CURE SOON!
We will be taking part in this year's JDRF Walk on October 26th to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money Sol-Marie raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
Sol-Marie has singlehandedly raised about $800 so far!
For her birthday party she asked for donations for JDRF in lieu of presents. She has done this before to other charities, but this year it is hitting closer to home. (The beneficiary the previous year was Dell Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed a year later.)
She is making these awesome photo boards she is selling for $20 (that's right, the price went up, cause everyone LOVES them and told her she needed to charge more). All profits go straight to JDRF and her walk team. You can request colors and patterns.
She is also setting up snow-cone stands and lemonade stands regulary in South Austin.
And sews some super cute pencil cases she also wants to sell.
Sol-Marie is working hard to fund a cure for her disease. She has taken ownership and know that she does NOT want to live with carb counting, finger pricking, blood glucose numbers, and needles for the rest of her life. -But she can't do it alone!
Please support her by donating right here on her walk page. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease
-And it will put a huge smile on Sol-Marie's face!!!
