We will turn Type One into Type None

Welcome to our JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Team Page for Team Elsa!

As grandparents, we want only the very best for our grandchildren. That especially includes being healthy and kept safe. But 3-1/2 years ago our granddaughter Elsa was suddenly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a chronic and life-threatening disease that currently has no cure. T1D requires constant attention and vigilance. An active 1st grader, Elsa now wears an insulin-infusing pump and a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) at her waist, 24/7/365. She will be dependent upon insulin for the rest of her life. We dream of the day in her lifetime when a cure for T1D is found. We are taking steps to help JDRF achieve its goal of improving the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. By joining Team Elsa and making a donation, you will be helping us to raise funds to directly support research with the greatest potential to conquer this disease. You will be helping to make this dream of a lifetime without diabetes a reality.

We are motivated by the courage and perseverance of those facing the everyday challenges of type 1 diabetes - they are the reason we challenge ourselves to give more, to do more, to achieve more. We challenge ourselves to make a real difference in the lives of those with T1D, to make a difference in the life of our granddaughter Elsa.

Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? All we need you to do is click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and begin fundraising. It's simple, fast, and fun!

Thank you for your support, and we'll see you at the Walk!
