Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $89 million.
Type 1, or juvenile diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children. However, there is some good news, though. JDRF is our best hope for finding a cure. It funds more type 1 diabetes research than any other charity worldwide and it's making progress along many promising paths toward better treatments and a cure. Two such advancements that JDRF hopes to see come to fruition in the near future, as well as myself, are the artificial pancreas, and smart insulin.
This year's walk will be taking place on Sunday, October 12th. The event begins at 9:30am, and I would love to get as many people in our team photo as possible this year! Oh... and this year the walk has returned to the scenic and beautiful Lover's Point in Monterey!!!
Whatever support that you can give me this year is greatly appreciated, whether it is a donation, walking along side me in October, or just your moral support.
I thank you for taking the time to visit my page and greatly appreciate your support!
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
