Welcome to "Steps for Lex"

Well it's that time again! Summer is winding down which means back to school and gearing up for the 2014 Walk to Cure Diabetes.

Alexis as grown so much since being diagnosed at age 4, she is going into 4th grade!  Its hard to believe that last spring marked her 5th year of being at Type 1 Diabetic.

In five years Alexis has grown into such a strong independent person. At time she is still very shy but she always takes control when she needs to. While it can be scary for Dan and I, Alexis is more and more in charge of her own Diabetes. It is amazing to see how she has grown.

One thing we have been working on this year is acknowledging that being a Diabetic is hard. As parents we always want to be encouraging and positive but after a series of events this year we also learned we needed to help her express her frustrations.

Every time Alexis is frustrated with Diabetes she will say- I wish they would just find a cure. So please, help us raise the necessary funds to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes so that future generations will not have to go through daily challenges that we do!

Thank you for your donation and your commitment to helping cure diabetes. Please consider joining us for the walk the day is inspirational!
