Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!

For 34 years, I have been pricked and poked with needles to check blood sugars and have insulin put into my body.  I am froever grateful for this because it keeps me alive.  But I can see a future without any of this.  We are so close to a cure.  But to get there we have to have the funding.

When I was first diagnosed there were no home glucose monitoring kits, there were no insulin pens or pumps, there were no CGMS machines.  I was told I should never get pregnant, that I would go blind, that my heart could give.  Nice right?  Well modern medicine and a lot of faith in the Good Man Upstairs...and I have proved all those folks wrong for 33 years.  I am a mom of a precious 7 year old, my eyesight is okay but I am getting older...ha ha ha, and my ticker is ticking right along.

I know the statistics of all that COULD go wrong.  But I choose to look at all that COULD go right.  We COULD have a cure.  We COULD kiss this disease goodbye.  My nephew (recently diagnosed) COULD have a chance at a lifetime without this.  I COULD sleep knowing if my daughter, my grandaughter, or my great grandson will never live a day with this disease.  I COULD.  We all COULD.  It's a dream that is worth fightening for because we have a shot at curing this thing.  Please donate in any amount.

I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.

Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin - a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.

JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.

Please support me and donate to my Walk fundraising campaign. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible today?

Thank you for your support!
