    Charlie's Clan 2013

We will turn Type One into Type None

Welcome to Charlie's Clan JDRF One Walk Page!!

Many of you know Charlie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on September 24, 2012.  We are getting used to our "new" normal! Charlie has been amazing through all of the changes. Type 1 diabetes is a hard thing to have. There is never a day, or even an hour where we are not thinking about his blood sugar. Some days he is too low, others he is too high. There are nights when I have to get up in the middle of the night to check his blood. He can't eat something without figuring the carbs and giving himself insulin. Things are better since he started on the pump last August. But being on the pump has other problems, there are times when it doesn't work right and his blood sugar goes really high. It is better than shots though! We are hoping one day they will have a cure! He wanted to "celebrate" his two year  anniversary by walking in the JDRF walk. He is hoping to raise as much money as possible. Please consider joining our team to help us raise money, you can also join as a virtual walker!  Any donation would be greatly appreciated! Let's help JDRF find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes!!!

Thank you!

Charlie's Clan

We're taking steps to help JDRF progressively remove the impact of type 1 diabetes (T1D) from people's lives until no one has to fear developing this disease. By joining our Walk to Cure Diabetes team and making a donation to JDRF, you'll raise money to help fund critical T1D research and create a world without T1D.

Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.

JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. Every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.

The challenge we've set ourselves - to raise money for JDRF and to walk - is modest compared to the daily challenges of life with T1D, which involves a 24/7, unrelenting cycle of blood sugar testing and insulin injections to manage the disease.

Will you accept the challenge to make a difference by walking with us? Just click on the "Join this Team" button, make a donation, and start fundraising.

Thank you for your support, and we'll see you on Walk day!
