Dear Family and Friends, My theory is there is no I in team. I like football, lacrosse, basketball, hockey, baseball, golf, tennis, swimming, ping-pong, and shuffleboard. Sports are my life. So is Type 1 diabetes.
I'll be taking part again in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes this year on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 at 9 a.m. I hope to see everybody there at 8 a.m. We are trying to raise money for research into better treatments and a cure for juvenile diabetes in my lifetime. We think that the JDRF can figure something out sooner rather than later if everyone pitches in.
Lots of kids have type 1 or juvenile diabetes just like me. They just pretty much woke up with it one day like me. Nobody in my family has type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Like me the millions of kids with diabetes suddenly had to count every carb and match it with insulin, prick their finger all day and night, take shots all day every day, carry sugar and supplies everywhere they go, and hope they are able to keep their numbers close enough to normal that they don't have big problems later on. Keeping numbers "normal" is very hard. Also if you keep very "tight" you can go low a lot and that is scary. JDRF is the best hope I know for making life with diabetes safer and for ultimately finding a cure.
Won't you please give to the JDRF as much as you can?
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
