This year Robert will not be walking in the Houston walk, but he will be helping. Robert and I will be in the newly diagnosed tent greeting new families. We will share with them that life will be forever changed, but they will grow to understand their new normal life. Although we will not be walking I hope you all will support " I hate Needles" by sleeping in but still donating to JDRF.
In the last years HUGE steps have been made in the research for better treatment for type I diabetes. The one that Robert sees as life changing is ENCAPSULATION. JDRF has funded $15 million for this project and it is now in clinical trials. Encapsulation would be a small device placed under the skin that would delivery insulin as needed daily for up to 2 years. No more shots, so "I hate Needles" would no longer be said daily in the Brown house.
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
