Jeff Santo and I kicking off the Walk in honor of his Dad, Ron Santo
take steps towards a cure
Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!
Dear Family and Friends,
This year, I am raising money for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic plan to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D). They'll do that by progressively removing the impact of T1D from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone. I'm asking you to help support my fundraising efforts with a tax-deductible gift that will help make a difference in the lives of the millions of people with T1D.
T1D's onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. At present, there is also nothing you can do to get rid of it. People with T1D must manage the disease by injecting or pumping insulin several times a day, every day. Insulin is not a cure, and it does not prevent the possibility of serious complications like kidney failure, heart failure, blindness, and stroke.
Although I have been blessed to have received a life saving kidney/pancreas transplant, there are so many of my dear friends who have passed from the severe complications of the disease and others still suffering with them every day.
That's why I walk with JDRF - to help them fund research to discover, develop, and deliver new drugs and devices that cure, better treat, and prevent T1D.
I am committed to finding a cure for them and all the others living with this debilitating disease and you can help too by making a donation.
It is faster and easier than ever to donate. Use the link at the bottom of this message to donate online. If you prefer, you can mail your check to me at the address listed below. Please make the check out to "JDRF" and include my name in the “Memo” section.

Every dollar JDRF spends comes from donors like you! Any amount, great or small, helps JDRF get closer to finding a cure
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
