Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page!

As most of you know, my beautiful daughter Mackenzie, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the young age of 6. She has lived with this life changing disease for 21 years.

So far, she is lucky not to suffer from any major Diabetic complications. However, she has had sevreal bouts of severe low blood sugar levels, one of which was so severe, she lost consciousness, then hit her head when she fell, resulting in a concussion and a stay in the hospital. We were lucky that someone else was around to administer her Glucagon shot,. Without this shot, she would have slipped into a coma and died.

As a mother, I can not tell you just how frightening it is to find your child crumpled and unconscious on the floor because her glucose levels have dropped to a dangerously low level.

I'll be taking part in this year's Walk to raise funds for Mackenzie, and the millions of people living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The money raised will help JDRF fund critical research to remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.

T1D is a life-threatening disease, which has no cure. It strikes children & adults suddenly, and changes their lives, and the lives of their families FOREVER. It can not be prevented

JDRF is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar JDRF is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.

Please support me and make a donation to our walk team. Your gift will make a difference to the millions of people affected by this life-threatening disease.

Thank you for your support!
