It’s been a year since Liv was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and if there were one word to describe how she is handling things, it would be the above definition.
We have come so far and are constantly amazed by Liv and the responsibility that she has taken on in maintaining theday-to-day management of T1D.
Over the past 12 months, here are just a few of the things that Liv has shouldered; moving from shots to the insulin pump, learning the carbohydrate content in pretty much every food on earth, wore a continuous glucose monitor, gone white water rafting down the Colorado River, and had her 1st sleep out since being diagnosed (actually 24 in a row) at her beloved Camp Marimeta as she went back this summer for the 1st time since being diagnosed.
As those of you that know us well can attest, we have all (Franny, Michael, Easton, Luke & Liv)approached this new chapter as an opportunity to learn, grow and adapt through life’s unpredictable journey.
On October 5th, for the 2nd year, our team "Liv.Life.Full" will be walking in the annual JDRF Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes. Our family would like to invite you and your families to join our team and walk with us to support Liv and help fund a cure for T1D. Walking in the walk-a-thon is easy, open to everyone, and there is no cost to register. If anyone should choose to donate to JDRF, you can do so on the link below. It is the direct link to our family page on the JDRF site & we encourage all walkers to register with our team (once on our team page click on menu then register.)
We will have a tent with a large banner - "Liv.Life.Full" -for everyone to gather in the morning before the walk located at the starting area. We will have bagels, cream cheese, waters & team t-shirts to get people going! The walk-a-thon start is at Montrose Harbor and is fully explained on the website.
Lastly, if I have missed anyone with this e-mail please feel free to forward. If you have any questions or need help with registering, please e-mail us or call us at 847-831-0525.
Your donation will count towards the team's fundraising total. In addition, please give credit to the person that asked for your support to recognize them for their efforts in creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D).
