Welcome to my personal JDRF Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes fundraising page for Team Juliana!

This year, I'll be taking part in the 32nd Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes, along with one-half million other JDRF walkers and runners across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $95 million.

Team Juliana is named after my daughter Juliana Graceffo, an energetic and delightful 4th grader who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on Christmas Day 2008, when she was four years old.  This is Team Juliana's sixth consecutive year supporting Beat the Bridge.  Rain or shine, it is always a special day for our family - especially for Juliana.  Thanks to the generous support of many friends and family over the years, we have raised more than $85,000.  This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 more and to eclipse the $100K mark in total Team Juliana giving.  With your help we know we can reach our goal.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas.  Its causes are not yet entirely understood.  Diabetes requires constant management - blood sugar testing, carb counting and insulin administration, each and every day.

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on T1D research.  It's goal is to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.

Beat the Bridge is a fantastic way to make a difference in the lives of the millions of people affected by type 1 diabetes.  I am asking for your support.  Your can help make a difference!

Just click on the Donate button at the top left to make a donation and/or sign up for the walk on May 18th.  You can also watch a new two minute video to get just a glimpse Juliana's daily life with type 1 diabetes.

Thank you again for your support!  It means so much to me and my family.

Greg
