Hello from Dan's Team!

Thank you for visiting my personal page! I, Kim Veldee, will be taking over as captain of Dan's Team this year!

My big brother, Dan Veldee, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 3. Throughout my life I have grown accustomed to watching him treat himself with insulin shots and finger pricks, but is that really how it should be? His entire future is threatened by his diagnosis, placing him at risk for kidney failure, heart disease, blindness, or a host of other horrible health issues. A cure for diabetes could make the difference between life or death for my brother, and finding a cure starts here with fundraising.

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research, hoping to improve the lives of every person affected by type 1 diabetes. That is where we come in. Through fundraisers such as Beat the Bridge, research can be funded to help discover the cure, better treatment, or prevention of type 1 diabetes. By joining my team, you can help make a difference for the millions of people living with type 1 diabetes. But the one that I care the most about is Dan.

I would be honored if you joined Dan's Team this year. Beat the Bridge is a great opportunity to get in shape and meet new people while at the same time supporting a charity that is very important to me.

Please support me as I try to help my brother and others like him. I would appreciate if you join my team, fundraise, and/or donate to Dan's Team. We are very grateful for your support and hope to see you on at Beat the Bridge on May 19th!

Go Dan's Team!
