Welcome to my personal JDRF Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes fundraising page! This year, I'll be taking part in the 30th Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes 5 mile run, in memory of my sister Natalie. You can join me and run or walk this fun event at UW's Husky Stadium to raise money for diabetes research!
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved.
JDRF is the leading global organization focused on T1D research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF is to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures go directly to T1D research.
Please join our team, donate, or both! By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with Type 1 Diabetes.
Thank you for your support!
