Welcome to my fundraising page for the 31st Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes!
I got involved with JDRF (and YLC) about a year ago when YLC was in it's infancy as was my knowledge of T1D. From our first meet up I quickly learned about the daily challenges facing people with T1D. Fast forward to today, and a lot of these people have now become my friends.
What is T1D?
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved.
JDRF is the leading global organization focused on T1D research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF is to improve the lives of every person affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures go directly to T1D research.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts. By doing so, you can help make a difference foR of people living with T1D.
Thank you for your support!
