Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the 31st Annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes! I have been walking in this rasce since my diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 9. This year, I'll be participating in this incredible event, along with thousands of others, and hopefully you, to raise $1.5 million in support of JDRF and to improve the lives of all people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). If you ask people with T1D, they will tell you it is difficult and life threatening. And they know it never goes away. However I hope to make a difference and know that in my life time I may not see a complete cure from diabetes, however I hope to see soemthing close to it. JDRF uses the fundraised money towards research, that will bring us one step closer to that cure.
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. Once this occurs insulin is required for life. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved.
I am asking for your support. Please donate to my personal fundraising efforts, and hopefully join my team as well. The bigger the better. By doing so, you can help me make a difference for millions of people living with type 1 diabetes.
Did you know that:
As the leader of the type 1 diabetes community, JDRF unifies global efforts to cure, treat, and prevent T1D. JDRF will not rest until T1D is fully conquered. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible?
Thank you for your support and love,
