New name for JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes - JDRF One Walk
JDRF changed the name of the flagship fundraising event to communicate the focus on a single goal: creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). A vision this bold deserves a powerful new name. JDRF funds research to deliver life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by T1D every day. Every step taken at a JDRF One Walk gets JDRF closer to the goal of creating a world without T1D. Your participation enables JDRF to continue funding life-changing therapies - like artificial pancreas systems, smart insulin, and beta cell encapsulation - and to deliver these advances to the community as quickly as possible.
Our JDRF One Walk efforts over the past 18 years are making a difference, but my efforts are futile without your help. I am grateful to so many of you who have been so faithful over the years, and welcome new supporters. We will walk in memory of Rachel and Patrick's grandmother, Patricia Van Buren, and in hopes of a cure for Rachel and Patrick's Dad, Art, and baby Emmett's Mom, Katie on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Bicentennial Mall in Nashville.
If you are able, I ask you to choose to join me in the effort to cure diabetes. Send your tax-deductible donation to me before the September 27th walk date. Make checks payable to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF. Donations can also be made by credit card on the secured JDRF website at www.jdrf.org as follows:
Click on "Get Involved" at the top of the page, click on "JDRF Walk", and click on "Donate"

All donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
