Creating a world without type 1 diabetes

I am participating in JDRF One Walk because of my daughter Megan. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in February of this year, and it has truly been life changing. She has been the bravest person I know when faced with changing her lifestyle. She has shown such maturity and grace with all of these changes. I am so proud of her every day; however, I would love for there to be a cure for her. So walking is part of the way that we, as a family, are helping with trying to find a cure for her. We hope that all of our friends and family will join the fight with us by walking or donating money!

For those of you that do not know, Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin – a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure – yet. Your support of JDRF can help change that. JDRF is the one organization with the plan, influence, and ability to lessen the burden of this disease until it no longer exists.

By donating today, you can help JDRF fund research that impacts the lives of the millions of children, adults, and families challenged by T1D every single day. With your support, we will create a world without T1D and turn Type One into Type None. Thank you.
