Hey team!  It’s that time of year again!  This year, you will notice the JDRF walk has a new name.  It’s now called JDRF One Walk.  For those of you who participated last year thank you!  We had such a great turn out and it really made Brendan feel special and realize that he was not alone in this fight. For those who did not participate last year, it is so much fun! We won Rookie of the Year and had the opportunity to speak at the JDRF’s award ceremony. At the walk there are bouncy houses, giveaways, food trucks and lots of fun activities for the kids and adults.  The walking trail is not strenuous and “at your own pace”.  If you don’t want to walk the entire path, you don’t have to.  You will walk by our tent several times throughout the walk and can take a pit stop if you need toJ. Please come walk with us and show Brendan how much love and support surrounds him every day!

A recap of our year…..Brendan has been doing great.  He is very independent and taking great care of himself.  He is playing soccer and staying active.  We are so proud of Brendan for not letting his Type 1 diabetes keep him from doing everything he wants to do!  He did get his insulin pump and that has truly made things easier for him (and us!).  While this year was great, we did have a unplanned trip to Vandy due to stomach virus that hit him fast and hard.  Within a few hours of getting sick, we were headed to the ER because his ketones were very high, which means danger for a TID.  It is scary for us that something we were able to manage in the past was out of our control very fast.  Things will be different and we know that.  We continue to learn things every day!

Please help us raise funds for the JDRF in Brendan’s name as a part of

 Brendan’s Team Type 1.

You can mail checks directly to us @ 681 Wolfeboro Lane, Nashville, TN 37221 (please make checks payable to JDRF).  You can also mail them directly to the JDRF with a notation that it is to go towards Brendan’s Team Type 1.  The JDRF Middle TN address is 105 Westpark Drive, Suite 415 Brentwood TN 37027.  You can also donate on our page  We will be looking to have a few fundraisers as well this year.  I have contacted one of my friends who sells Scentsy and we would get 25% of all products sold, so be on the lookout for some information about that!

As last year, we will be ordering t-shirts for our team.  These usually cost $10.00 each.  If you would like to order one, please let me know and I will start a list.  I am not sure of the theme yet, so the design is to be determined.  If you know of a local business that would like to donate, which is tax deductible, please share Brendan’s story!  We will place their business logo on the back of our shirts to promote they have supported the fight for a cure for TID!

Thanks everyone!  Hope to see you on walk day!
