Welcome to my 3nd Annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes Page! I am once again taking the steps to help achieve JDRF's mission: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. To ultimately make MY life easier!!! :-)
Hard to believe I've been a Type 1 Diabetic now for 2 years!!!! I'm doing OK and learning alot about my diabetes. I know when I have ice cream before bed...my blood sugars go super high. And I know my mom or dad come into my bedroom in the middle of the night to check my blood sugars. I continue to be on the pump and have my blood sugars checked 8-10 times a day. I'm kind of nervous to start kindergarten in the fall, but thanks to our school nurse in St Peter, it should be OK!
On August 18, 2012 we had our 2nd Annual Minnesota River Valley Ride for a Cure (motorcycle/classic car ride)!! I even rode on the back of my uncle Jon's motorcycle for a little bit! :-) We raised close to $5,500 for JDRF; and I can't wait for next year's ride!!
So, the reason you are reading this?On February 23, 2013, my family will once be again walking in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Our goals are still the same?and always will be to raise money to support the research required to find better treatments and a cure. It's great to be at the walk...there are so many kids just like me who have diabetes so I know I'm not alone. So to accomplish our goals, I am once again raising money for the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. The money our JDRF Walk Team raises will go directly to support this life-changing research.
