I'm participating in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes!
Welcome to my personal JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes fundraising page! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our nationwide goal of raising $94 million.
In late September 2011, our almost 2 year-old daughter, Hannah, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Since then, our lives have drastically changed, from what we eat, to the planning of our schedule around her needs. She has now turned 4, and is such a joy to everyone she meets! Everyone has already been so supportive, and we are so thankful for the strength that has come from Jesus Christ, and those around us.
It is sometimes hard to thank God in the hard times, but that's when you draw closer to Him, and realize that He loves us all the more. Hannah will have a unique situation as she grows up, and we are so thankful for her, and how God can use her in the future.
We are participating in this walk to meet new people (and families who's lives have been touched by diabetes), to raise diabetes awareness, and to garner support for a possible cure in the future (and research to better their lives in the future).
