Hi, my name is Parker! :) I am in First grade this year. I love school, reading, and math. I also love sports and hanging out with my family and friends. My family and I love to go on walks, runs, and bike rides together.
In addition to being a great kid and family guy, I am a type-1 Diabetic (T1D), diagnosed when I was 4. T1D is a condition where my pancreas does not produce insulin on its own. I was very fortunate to receive an insulin pump last summer that helps me regulate my blood sugar. Type One Diabetes research made this possible. When I was diagnosed, the doctor told my family, "There will be a CURE in Parker's lifetime." ...so, we MUST KEEP fighting!!!!
Research requires time and money. While doctors and scientists have been working overtime to make my dream of "being like my brother without this pump" possible, your support is appreciated in helping research continue to make my DREAM COME TRUE.
We would LOVE to have you join us on our "Walk to Find a Cure" at 9am on April 12th at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. Our theme this year is "Mardi Gras". Please join us!! In addition, if you would like to make a donation to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation on my behalf, I would really appreciate it. Just click the "Donate to Parker" button at the top of this page. Any amount is very generous and so much appreciated. Thank you for your support and helping me continue this fight! :) Love, Parker
