Join me in the fight to create a world without type 1 diabetes!

Welcome to my JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes personal fundraising page!

I am walking for my daughter, Kate.  Kate was diagnosed with TD1 at the ripe old age of 15 months.  It is a miracle she is alive today because when she was diagnosed she weighed only 14 pounds and had a blood sugar level over 1000!  But she is a fighter and an amazing kid who is an A+ student, an amazing athlete and a gifted musician.  I want a world where she does not need to test her blood sugar every time she eats or give herself injections 3-6 times a day.  I want her to go to bed feeling confident when she wakes in the morning she will feel well.  I want her to not be afraid that when she plays soccer she will have a low in the middle of a game thus preventing her to play at her best.  Overall, I want her to live a happy, healthy and "normal" life.

I'm joining this year's Walk to raise funds to improve the lives of millions of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help JDRF advance its strategic research plan to end T1D.

T1D is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin, which the body needs to get energy from food. Managing the disease requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on insulin. With T1D there are no days off, and there is no cure.

JDRF is working every day to change that. And, as the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research, every dollar JDRF directs toward its research plan comes from donors like you.

Please support my commitment and donate to my Walk fundraising efforts today. Your gift will make a difference for millions of people affected by this devastating, life-threatening disease.

Thank you for your support!
